Grammatically, you are on point.

From the descriptive tone of the first paragraph, You’d started with “She did..” then changed to first person narration ” I ran…” That is the most consistent error. Also when writing such a long piece try to give the reader a hint of where the story is headed, just for measure; so s/he doesn’t get bored.

This is a step by step approach to creating a practical, understandable and easily repeatable method of plotting and planning a story. If children see adults modelling the use of plans and can see an actual point to making a plan before they commit pen to paper then it should encourage them to write to a schedule and with a pre-determined conclusion. In my experience children do not write notes they write the story out several times, in sentences and change very little. This method concentrates on the achieveable, discussion-led formation of a story with only minimal notes on which to embroider an age-appropriate sentence constructed story. Many children find it hard to believe that they know what the story is going to be and how it is going to end before they have begun writing. Hopefully it takes away a lot of the mystique about the creative process without being too formulaic. It is meant to develop confidence in making a whole story together as class and then they can adapt and adopt other ideas that they have heard into their own story-writing. In general I would say that it gives some ideas for the structure of a linear, narrative SATs story.
